Do I need a Visa to visit Lebanon?
No! For Irish and American citizens and most other nationalities you receive a visa on arrival when you land in Beirut and go through Immigration. For other nationalities check here. PS make sure your passport is valid for 6 months from date of travel.
What's the best way to get to Lebanon?
The main/only way to get to Lebanon is by air, flying into Beirut-Rafic Al Hariri International Airport. Some of the main airlines serving Lebanon from Ireland and the USA are Delta, Lufthansa, Middle Eastern Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France, Royal Jordanian and Emirates. These airlines will usually connect in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Istanbul among other main hubs. (There are connection via Cyprus but we don't recommend this as it require a trip across the island to a different airport).
Can I rent a car in Lebanon?
Yes, if you're interested in renting a car, please reach out to Ola as she has a local company that can drop off the car and take it back with an option of having a driver with the car.
What will the weather be like?
The Best!! Lebanon has a mediterranean climate and in August the temperatures will range from 20-30 Celsius or 68-86 Fahrenheit. Perfect weather for the beach and make sure your hotel has a pool!!
What language is spoken in Lebanon?
That’s complicated!! You can hear Arabic, French and English words all in the same sentence when the locals are conversing, however 75% of the population speak English and Danny now has 40ish Arabic words so he can help if needed. ;-)
Will my phone work in Lebanon?
Irish and US Sim cards work for calls, however data may not always be available and can be expensive. We recommend you can purchase a Lebanese sim card at the airport, most modern phones can support 2 sim cards (physical and E-Sim) and for approximately $20 you will have unlimited calls and data for your time in Lebanon.
How is the Wi-Fi in Lebanon?
Kick Ass!!! You can get high speed Wi-Fi in all stores, hotel, bars and restaurants.
Will the wedding and celebrations be held indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony and reception will be held entirely outdoors.
What should I wear on the wedding day?
Please see our Schedule for the dress code. Note: the Wedding venue is in the Mountains of Lebanon so the temperature in the evening is quite cool and comfortable.
Are there any dress code restrictions in public?
There are no restrictions on what Men or Women can wear in public. Lebanon is a very open and accepting society and is not considered to be conservative.
Are children allowed?
We know you love your little ones, but our wedding is planned as an adults-only event. However please reach out if this causes a major issue and we can figure it out.
Do credit cards work?
Foreign credit cards might not work in all places and the commission rate might be greater than expected so we highly suggest you carry cash at all times.
What type of plugs work in Lebanon?
Lebanon uses the European style 2 prong charger per the following link so you may need a converter.
What are the accepted currencies in Lebanon?
Lebanon's currency is the Lebanese Lira, however the currency is currently experiencing daily fluctuation due to hyper inflation. But don't worry the Lebanese figured it out, most location have their prices in dollars and accept dollars and credit cards.
What if I forget to pack sunscreen?
You can buy sunscreen and anything else you need in Lebanon if you forget to pack it. It may be a good excuse to check out the great stores and shopping centers in Beirut and other cities.
When is the RSVP deadline?
We will be sending official invites in April/May but we wanted to get the save the date and some additional travel tips out early as we know many of you are traveling. That said feel free to RSVP at this time if you can confirm you plans as it will help us with the wedding planning and might save us having a few fights! LOL
Can I bring a date?
Duh!! All guests are welcome to bring a plus one!
Can I drink Alcohol in Lebanon?
Yes!! They don’t call Beirut "the Paris of the Middle East" for nothing, the restaurants, bars and nightlight are world famous! We can't wait to show you all around and enjoy the Best of Lebanese Hospitality together.
What taxi application works in Lebanon?
International apps like Uber are the main used apps and they only get paid in cash. However, a local taxi company can be a good option for traveling between cities and can be ordered by calling them 24/7. We highly recommend Allo Taxi, phone number: 1213
